Ed took the helm of St. David’s Foundation in January 2020, where he oversees all the Foundation’s operations as well as leads its philanthropic endeavors aimed at improving the lives of individuals throughout Central Texas both today and tomorrow.
Ed joined St. David’s Foundation from Southwestern University, where he holds the titles President Emeritus and Professor Emeritus of Mathematics. A leader on thinking, innovation, and creativity, Ed is also the author of more than 70 research articles, books and videos. He has delivered more than 800 addresses worldwide and has starred in more than 5,000 on-line math tutorial videos.
Ed graduated from Connecticut College, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts, summa cum laude with distinction, in mathematics and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He earned a Ph.D. in mathematics from The University of Texas at Austin and was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Waterloo in Canada. In 2013, he was awarded an LL.D. honorary degree by Williams College.
